"Lewis is a great teacher who fosters a genuine love and understanding of the piano. He is interested in how students learn, is open to new ideas and approaches and is willing to adapt his methods. My daughter says she appreciates the piano in a whole new way thanks to Lewis. He is also always polite, personable and punctual!"
STEPHEN (ADULT STUDENT)
"I have worked with Lewis for just over a year now. He is a great tutor: encouraging, supportive and very reliable. With a broad range of techniques he really helps you focus on the structure of your pieces (often away from your instrument!), encourages you to focus on listening to how you are playing and best of all he will teach you how to practise well rather than just surface level learning. He has lovely insight and a wealth of humorous musical stories to entertain and instruct a pupil! He finds multiple ways to help you develop muscular strength, tackle coordination problems, improve fluidity and understand what you need to do to overcome any persistent stumbling blocks. On top of that he provides an occasional lesson involving deep discussion of what has been learnt and what to do next so you can think about your progress. His breadth of support and teaching methods are both unusual and original and I cannot recommend Lewis highly enough to any piano player, whatever your individual aim and ability. Try him and you will see!"
"Lewis has been teaching and training my eight-year-old daughter for the past four months now. Within this period, Olivia has grown - not only in her piano skills and technique, but her ability to focus, work hard and become an independent thinker: this is down to Lewis. He has a wonderful ability to understand a child's personality (both at the piano and away from it), enabling them to thrive. His passion for music is infectious and we always look forward to the next lesson. I could not recommend Lewis anymore highly. If you want your child to just learn the piano, go elsewhere. If you want your child to gain confidence, independence, and become not just technically proficient, but build a love and passion for the instrument, then look no further than Lewis Kingsley Peart!!!"
